Which Asian inspired bottle do you like? Pagoda Design

February 02, 2022

Form Language plays a very important part in packaging design. Consumers are unconsciously drawn towards things that look & feel familiar. It is important that when we design packaging that we take clues from familiar things we know from areas such as architecture, cultural specifics or anything related to what we see in nature.

Establishing an emotional connection with the consumer through the packaging by taking this into account will help you to stand out on shelf.

Pagoda - What we see being sketched here is a Pagoda. "Pagoda" is a more generic term referring to an architectural structure spread across Asia, taking on many diverse forms as details specific to different regions were incorporated into the overall design.

Pagodas are commonly made of wood, brick, or stone, and each has an upcurved, overhanging roof. A pagoda has three sections; a base, a body, and a top. Just like the bottle we have designed that is fully inspired by the design of a Pagoda.

Interested and want more information?

The Pagoda design 328ml Crown Seal Amber bottle has attributes that include Premium, New & Exciting - the numbers are thought to be lucky in Asia.

We aim to have this readily available to serve your demand.

We are looking to produce via our Vietnam plant in Ho Chi Minh where we can offer you FOB, ex works or DAP pricing.  To support you to market we need to understand your location, estimated volumes and filling requirements.

NOTE: as these are Industry containers, there are no mould costs.

Please email bayard.sinnema@o-i.com or antonius.darmadi@o-i.com to discuss.

The O-I Asia team can work with you and provide more information such as technical drawings, samples, packaging specification and container loading.  We need to understand how you would like to purchase (ex works, FOB or DAP) and (pallet quantities vs 20' containers).  We can then offer you competitive pricing and payment terms.

Once we have reached launch volumes, then we can do first production - at this stage we are aiming for Q3 2022 to be confirmed.

Launch partners can showcase their branded bottles on the O-I stand at the 2022 SEA Brew in Bangkok in October.
