Not all partnerships are based on new product developments in isolation. Sometimes, they embody a much deeper relationship between O-I and its customers.
Renowned Italian oil company, Monini has made of sustainability its faith embracing the “green philosophy” in all aspects of their business: from olive growing up to the glass bottle containing their premium extra virgin olive oil.
O-I supported Monini in its pursuit of an EU Environmental product Declaration and in joint marketing projects.
Specific
successes include customised containers for extra virgin olive oils with a
higher than average percentage of recycled content: 70% in green glass and 80%
in UV-protective green glass.
This has created a 25% decreased in CO2 emissions over Monini’s previous glass containers.
