Conferences are important events where O-I can demonstrate all the ways we’re innovating the world of glass packaging. But this summer’s Beverage Packaging Conference was anything but a typical conference.
The pandemic is forcing the world to think differently about ways of working. O-I was set to be a platinum sponsor at the 2020 Beverage Packaging Conference. When organizers scrapped the in-person event and moved it to an online conference, the O-I sales and marketing teams planning for the conference quickly adapted to build an online experience to engage top beverage manufacturers.
The online conference in mid-June gave O-I several ways to connect
with the world’s leading beverage makers.

O-I Global Innovation Platform Director, presented “Unleashing Glass Packaging
Customization & Late-Stage Differentiation.” The 30-minute seminar focused
on how O-I : EXPRESSIONS helps brands personalize their
stories through digital printing (note: you can see the presentation here on Vimeo). After the
presentation, there was time for live Q&A.
The O-I team also interacted with attendees through a virtual booth from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. People could "visit” the virtual booth and download handout materials, watch videos, and chat with O-I delegates via text.
“We had the possibility to start a discussion with people attending the event,” explains Yolanda Fernandez, O-I Marketing & Communications Specialist.
The virtual nature of the event allowed the team to keep the discussion going by reaching out to people on social media. It was a natural extension of extending the conversation around O-I's innovations in glass packaging. You can reach out to the team, too, by emailing expressions@o-i.com.
