Bodegas El Grifo, a customer of O-I distributor Grupo Juvasa, decided to design a limited-edition bottle to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of César Manrique, the talented Canarian artist. The wine that was chosen is Lías, an exclusive white wine from Lanzarote (Manrique’s birthplace), which has been named in honor of the artist as “Malvasía de César”.
Such a special occasion needed a unique solution. That’s why El Grifo, as first in Spain, decided to collaborate with the O-I : EXPRESSIONS team to create a bottle featuring one of César Manrique’s iconic artworks. El Grifo chose a fragment of the colorful mural “Lanzarote”, which is located in the main terminal of the island’s airport. The bottle also carries a special mention to the centenary of Manrique’s birth.
The result, realized with the support of César Manrique’s Foundation, is an eye-catching, full-color and realistic representation of the artwork, and a true tribute to the artist’s legacy.
