BenRiach distillery in Scotland has released its special edition scotch whisky. The bottles are a success story of a longstanding partnership between O-I Glass and Brown-Forman, BenRiach’s parent company.
Brown-Forman and O-I have a longstanding partnership, so when BenRiach was preparing a special release, they turned to O-I to help bring a bottle as special as the whisky to life.
O-I’s New Product Development team in Alloa, Scotland, and the Design Services team in Europe were key players on the complex new product design project to develop a bottle that met Brown Forman’s high expectations.
The Alloa, Scotland, plant produced the Premium bottles, while the plant in Holzminden, Germany, made the Super Premium limited edition bottles. Both plants have highly-skilled capabilities for our spirits customers.
Embossing on the limited edition bottles show the BenRiach initials, “BR,” entangled, the iconic bulbed neck, and an extra-thick base. There was also a particular focus on ensuring the perfect visual appearance of each bottle, driving home our team’s commitment to delivering on customer expectations.
“The new range perfectly marries tradition and innovation that is central to BenRiach’s story,” BenRiach master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie says of the whisky portfolio. The design was inspired by the taste and design of BenRiach’s first single malt, Original Ten.
“The project was complex, long and cross-national,” Michele Sartori, European Key Account Manager Spirits says, “but thanks to the passion, effort and commitment from all the team, we were able to reach a great result.”
The first bottles sold in August 2020.
