This Mallorca’s winery celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2020 and is led by the fourth generation of the family. Throughout its history, it has been always into the innovation and one example of this is its interest in O-I : EXPRESSIONS. The company decided to use the digital printing technique for the new packaging of its Veritas Roig rosé wine: a monovarietal wine made from the native Mantonegro grape, inspired by the strength of the Mediterranean Sea. It is a wine that has been very well received in the market, achieving great success and becoming one of the customers' favorites.
The customer wanted the new packaging to become more sustainable. As they previously used a plastic label on their Veritas Roig bottle, the aim was to replace it with an environmental friendly solution that would eliminate the use of non-recyclable materials. The drawing on the bottle representing a scorpionfish, a characteristic fish of Majorcan waters, has been digitally printed on glass with use of UV-curable organic inks. This process allowed to make a packaging that can go through the regular recycling streams and has no impact on the production of new bottles when the recycled glass is being used.
A new service that combines the integral benefits of glass with an agile, marketing-focused capability.
