In a highly competitive context, where differentiation, value and increased speed of innovation are key to being successful, drinks giant Pernod Ricard approached O-I as lead developer for its new Clan Campbell glass bottle.
By getting all stakeholders into O-I’s state of the art glass Design Centre at Alloa (Scotland), and bringing the concepts to life in real time, O-I was able to reach an agreed design for Clan Campbell much faster than normal.
The angular design features bold engraving of the Clan Campbell motif and the label features the Coat of Arms of the Duke of Argyll, head of the Campbells, one of the noblest Scottish clans.
The design is also the first Clan Campbell to be made using NNPB technology for its mainline sizes, reducing the weight by around 20% over its previous version, improving Pernod Ricard’s transportation costs and its carbon footprint.
