O-I's new service has been named the most ‘Promising Launch’ by The Oscar De L’Emballage (Oscars of Packaging) Awards.
O-I : EXPRESSIONS allows brands to turn their glass packaging into a canvas through digital printing. Unveiled in early September this year, the new service responds to the growing demand for late-stage differentiation by offering customers the opportunity to create highly personalised and customised glass packaging.
The award was presented at the Oscars De L’Emballage Awards ceremony at Elysées Biarritz, Paris on 26 November. The awards are organised by Infopro Digital, publishers of French packaging publication Emballages Magazine, and recognise packaging excellence.
It is very positive to see recognition in this prestigious awards scheme for this new service that makes glass even more value-adding for brands, by making glass more flexible in how it can respond to brands’ needs for differentiation and speed to market. O-I : EXPRESSIONS transforms glass packaging design and presents an exciting step on O-I’s strategic growth agenda.
O-I : EXPRESSIONS allows for flexible volumes, industrial speeds and affordable value with a wide variety of colour and design possibilities. It is ideal for producing packaging for short campaigns, such as seasonal promotions or limited editions.
These capabilities are expanded by, O-I : EXPRESSIONS RELIEF, a premium version of the service that enables brands to apply customised tactile digitally printed effects, including embossing and coloured embossing capabilities. This takes a step beyond what was previously thought possible in terms of glass customisation and premiumisation.
