Making what matters: O-I publishes updated sustainability goals

December 13, 2018

When 84% of people expect brands to help make the world a better place (according to a McCann Worldgroup study), we know that we have a role to play as a company, but also as a key partner to consumers’ favorite brands.

At O-I, we know getting real results requires action. That’s why we’ve developed goals for our company, reflective of our commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. These goals focus on climate change, recycling, safety, leadership development and diversity and were defined using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as framework.

We are proud to make the most sustainable packaging on Earth. But we know there is always more we can do to enhance the positive impact our products, processes and people have on the world around us. O-I has established a new set of goals in the areas of reducing CO2 emissions, increasing recycled content in our containers, and investing in our people and communities around the world.
