O-I Glass, Inc. and its affiliated and subsidiary entities (collectively, "O-I") respects the privacy of every individual who visits its Internet Web Site (“Site”).  This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") states how O-I will collect, use and disclose information it collects from you. By visiting the Site, you agree to accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy, and those in our Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms and Conditions”), which are also posted on this Site.

As our business changes and as technology and Internet use and practices change, O-I may from time to time  change our practices, Terms and Conditions, or this Policy. Therefore, O-I reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, change, add to, or delete from (any such modification, change, addition or deletion, an "alteration" to), this Policy and other policies posted on this Site at any time and without notice to users of this Site. Thus, we encourage you to review this Policy and other policies posted on this Site for possible changes, and to do so each time you return to the Site, to be certain you are aware of any alterations. Your continued use of this Site after any such alteration has been made constitutes acceptance by you of the terms of this Policy and any other policies posted on this Site as they then exist, including any such alteration.

Personally-identifiable information

There are opportunities on the Site for you to provide us with personally-identifiable information.  For example, we collect information that you voluntarily provide to us such as when you contact us through any of the “Contact Us” links that may be displayed on the Site or by regular mail as provided below.   You may also have the option to provide your name, address or email address when prompted to do so in order to receive a newsletter, publication or other type of materials.    If you choose to share any personally identifiable information with us, we may store it and use it to enable us to help enhance the Site and make it more usable for each user and to assist us in identifying existing and potential customers for our products and services, to interact with existing and potential vendors, to communicate with you and to respond to your inquiries and fulfil your requests. Such information is used only by O-I personnel for such purposes, and is not sold or otherwise in the ordinary course of our business, provided to other business entities or individuals. We may transfer such information if there ever were to occur, a change of ownership of O-I or its assets, and we may also disclose such information as described below in this Policy under the heading "Security and Retention".

Cookies and pixel tags

When you visit our Site, we use a variety of methods to collect information from you. These methods include either pixel tags or placing one or more small computer files called "cookies" on your computer. These files provide us with information about your computer and your visits, such as (but not limited to) your on-line identification and on-line address, other information about your computer and browser software, and information about your use of the various portions of this Site.  Cookies do not collect any information stored on your computer or device.  The types of cookies that we may use include:

Session Cookies.  These cookies remember you as you go from page to page on the Site so that you are not asked to provide the same information that you may have already provided on the Site.  These cookies are deleted when you leave the Site or close your browser.

Persistent Cookies. These cookies enable the Site to remember your preferences when you return to the Site.  For example, if you choose to read the Site in French during one visit, the next time you visit the Site will automatically appear in French.

Analytics Cookies.  These cookies allow us to determine how the Site is functioning and how users use the Site.  For example, these cookies can tell us which pages visitors view the most, if users get any error messages while visiting, and how we can improve the Site.

The information we gather through the use of cookies and pixel tags enables us to track usage of the Site and to better understand the preferences of users of the Site.  Cookies and pixel tags are used by us to aggregate data about Site traffic and Site interaction so that we can identify trends and obtain statistics so that we can improve the Site.  We aggregate this information with other information from other users, and we use such information only in an aggregate and anonymized manner, and do not sell, transfer or otherwise provide such information to other entities or individuals. We may transfer such information if there ever were to occur, a change of ownership of O-I or its assets, and we may also disclose such information as described in this Policy under the heading "Security and Retention."

Your browser can help you manage cookies.  You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to warn you when a cookie is being sent to your computer.  You can also set your browser to turn off all cookies.  You can do this through your browser settings on each browser and device that you use.  If you turn cookies off, this may prevent the Site from working properly or prevent you from accessing some of the features on the Site.  You can also set your browser to delete cookies every time you finish browsing.

Your privacy rights and access to personally identifiable information

You have the right to request access and to review, make corrections or updates, and erase any personally identifiable information that you have provided to us.  You may also ask us to send to you a portable copy of that information.  You may exercise these rights by contacting us at

Security and Retention

We use commercially reasonable practices, including encryption technologies, protect the confidentiality and security of your personal information and to see that your information is treated in compliance with this Policy. However, given the nature of the Internet, we cannot ensure complete security and we are not responsible for any breach of security or for the action of any person or entity other than O-I.  Notwithstanding our measures to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information as it travels over the Internet, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet and we cannot guarantee the safety of transmitting personal information over the Internet.  We therefor urge users to be careful with personal information while using the Internet.  In addition, O-I cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, we obey court orders, and we honor subpoenas and other legal process. As a result, your information may be disclosed if we were compelled by law or legal process to disclose it. We may also disclose such information if we were to determine in our sole discretion that such disclosure would be useful in connection with investigating possible non-compliance with the law, with any O-I policy, including our Terms and Conditions and this Policy, with any other agreement we might have with you, or if we reasonably believed that a user were attempting to cause damage to the functionality of this Site or its content. Hackers pose a threat to an Internet user, and the legal and regulatory status of matters on the Internet is uncertain both in the United States and in other countries. For these reasons, we cannot guarantee that all of your communications and other information will never be disclosed in ways you do not expect or which are not described in this Policy.

We will retain your information for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include: (i) the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you; (ii) whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject; or (iii) whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations)

Cross border Transfer

Your personal information may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities and affiliated companies or service providers and may be transferred to countries outside of your country of residence, including to the United States, which may provide for different data protection rules than in your country. Appropriate contractual and other measures are in place to protect personal information when it is transferred to our affiliates or third parties in other countries.

Some non-European Economic Area (EEA) countries are recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection according to EEA standards. For transfers from the EEA to countries not considered adequate by the European Commission, we have ensured that adequate measures are in place, including by ensuring that, by way of example, the recipient is bound by EU Standard Contractual Clauses, EU-US Privacy Shield Certification, or an EU-approved code of conduct or certification, to protect your personal information.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not intended for children under 18 years of age and O-I does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from individuals under 18 years of age.  No one under the age of 18 may provide information to O-I on or through the Site, and if we learn that we have received information from a child under the age 18, we will delete that information.  If you believe that a child under the age of 18 has sent personal contact information to us, please contact us immediately and we will use reasonable efforts to promptly remove that information from our systems.

Third party sites and services

This Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information, or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site or online service (including, without limitation, any social media) that is available through the Site or to which the Site contains a link. The availability of, or inclusion of a link to, any third party site on the Site is for the user’s convenience only and does not imply endorsement, approval or sponsorship by O-I of the third party site, the content displayed, or the persons or entities associated with them.  Once you have left the Site via any such third party link, you are solely responsible for reviewing and determining your acceptability of any applicable terms of use and privacy policies applicable to such third party sites.
